Celebrating at CLT’s Annual Drinks Reception

CLT was delighted to bring together leaders from government, industry, academia and the investment community to meet, share, learn and celebrate at our Annual Drinks Reception. The event was an opportunity to share some of CLT’s most recent successes, including projects delivered across the UK and with partners in Brazil, Mexico, and Abu Dhabi. It was also a chance forge new connections and discuss our mutual plans as we all energise the momentum gathering behind the climate movement worldwide and in the UK in preparation for COP 26.

CLT’s CEO Beverley Gower-Jones shared her thoughts on the challenges we are facing as a climate community and in society at large, referencing the series of catastrophic fires, floods, and storms that are bringing to bear the devastating early impacts of climate change. She also discussed how our collective commitment to make positive change through both individual actions and joint partnerships are moving the dial on climate action, with new net-zero commitments at national and corporate levels, early phase-out of petrol and diesel cars, and record investment in renewable energy. But she reminded us that there is so much more to do, and that only by doing it together can we address the climate emergency and realise the benefits of transitioning to a sustainable society.

CLT’s Annual Drinks Reception gives those in our network a platform to connect, learn from one another and prepare for another year of action. It’s also CLT’s way of saying thank you to the great people in our climate community and to celebrate with friends. Thank you to those who attended – we look forward to another eventful year ahead!
