Power Roll develops and commercialises highly innovative proprietary energy storage and energy generation technologies based upon their heavily patented micro-grooved structures. As these technologies exhibit significant benefits and advantages over existing technologies, they can prove extremely disruptive across a wide range of applications and markets. To help Power Roll prioritise new markets, CLT segmented the capacitor market by size and geography and determined the near-term growth rate of key market subsectors. We prioritised likely high growth market segments for Power Roll’s solution, which included segments such as small-scale sensors, Internet of Things and commercial segments such as avionics and electric vehicles. We also identified key potential customers in these high growth sectors. We reviewed different business model options that Power Roll could adopt, assessed their pros and cons, and recommended the most appropriate sales model. Using the outputs of this analysis, CLT further identified potential partners, both national and international, that matched the preferred model. As a result of the work, Power Roll has successfully started partnership discussions with some of the companies identified. CLT staff recently worked with us to explore new and alternative markets for Power Roll’s innovative energy technologies in support of a current major project. This enabled us to identify new markets and new potential partners both in the UK and overseas. The CLT team quickly understood our business needs and worked well in collaboration with our team to move our business forward. They provide two excellent and relevant reports and thanks to their analysis and insight, we have identified new applications, strategic partners and prospective customers for our technology, which are already being developed. In addition, this work has been useful in supporting our efforts with securing next stage investment for growth. Thanks to your team for their responsive approach and professionalism, we look forward to working with CLT on the next business support project. ~ Paul Laidler, Business Development and Programme Manager, Power Roll.
